About the production
When one man spends a fortune on an all-white painting, a long friendship among three men begins to crack in Yasmina Reza’s sharp, funny comedy.
“Male friendship gets entertainingly tested in Art… now in a taut, timely production by Kimberly Senior at the Guthrie Theater.”
— Minnesota Star Tribune
“Director Kimberly Senior has crafted French playwright Yasmina Reza's Art into an exquisitely tight 80 minutes, a pressure cooker for increasingly heated and petty arguments.”
— MPR News, Alex V. Cipolle
“Under the sharp, detail-oriented direction of Kimberly Senior… Guthrie Theater's production makes the conversation gripping.”
— Pioneer Press, Rob Hubbard
“crisp and clear direction...engaging, thought-provoking, and laugh out loud funny.”
— Cherry and Spoon
“Kimberly Senior directs the play and keeps it moving along at a brisk pace keeping the show at under 90 minutes, it flies by but feels like the perfect length.”
— The Stages of MN
“Throughout the entire production, the audience is provided the rare opportunity to actually feel like a fly on the wall, as we watch these three men hash out their feelings, positive and negative. Culminating in a series of revelations and deep seeded feelings, ART proves to be a piece of art in itself, giving the audience the chance to reflect and sit with the feelings that it elicits from the viewer.”
— BroadwayWorld, Joe Sarafolean
