About the production
Harrower’s spare, fable-like drama follows a plowman’s wife in a nameless rural community whose growing literacy — and growing sense of language as power — unsettles everything around her. The Strawdog production earned a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for Andre Pluess’s original incidental music.
