Kimberly Senior

Kimberly Senior is a freelance director whose award-winning work has been seen in 19 states in over 200 productions. Kimberly helped develop and directed the Broadway production of the Pulitzer Prize–winning, Tony-nominated Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar. She directed the HBO special Chris Gethard: Career Suicide, and her work in audio has ranged from Marvel's The Wastelanders to C13's Ghostwriter; she has also served as a Producer for Audible Theater since 2022.

Her work with solo artists includes Harvey Fierstein, Aasif Mandvi, Dan Rather, and many others. In Chicago, Kimberly is a member of the Artistic Collective at the Goodman Theatre, Resident Director at Writers Theatre, and an Associate Artist at TimeLine Theatre. She founded Collaboraction Theatre Company in 1997, and spent years as an associate artist at Strawdog Theatre Company, Chicago Dramatists, and Next Theatre.

She has served as Program Director and dramaturg for Steppenwolf's First Look Repertory of New Work, and continues to develop new plays with the Ojai Playwrights Conference, PlayPenn, and the Cape Cod Theater Project. Kimberly currently teaches for Yale University and recently ran the MFA Directing program at Brooklyn College, in addition to dozens of other MFA and BFA programs around the country — see Educator for the full history. She also works one-on-one with actors and directors through private coaching.

A former college athlete, Kimberly is a tennis junkie and an avid fitness practitioner. If you see her out in the world, you can bet your breakfast bagel that she’s already been to the gym today.

Kimberly is the proud mother of Noah and Delaney.
